Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva believes that his side's mental toughness helped them to overcome Chelsea in their Champions League last-16 tie.
The Brazilian defender scored in the second half of extra time to earn 10-man PSG a 2-2 draw in the second leg at Stamford Bridge this evening, sending the French champions through to the quarter-finals on away goals.
Silva says that PSG had to work hard for the victory after having striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent off in the 31st minute for a tackle on Chelsea midfielder Oscar.
"Congratulations to the whole team. At 11 against 11 it's difficult, but 10 is even more difficult," Silva told beIN Sports.
"We played a very good game, we were very sturdy. We have many quality players that can really hurt the opposition but today we earned it [the win] mentally."
The draw for the last eight takes place on Friday, March 20.
