Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has said that Chelsea forward Fernando Torres will get "the reception he deserves" when he returns to the Vicente Calderon tomorrow evening.
Torres, who is expected to be part of the Chelsea side that face Atletico in the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, represented the Spanish outfit between 1995 and 2007.
The Spanish international is still regarded as a cult hero in Madrid and Simeone has insisted that the 30-year-old will receive a strong reception from the Atletico faithful.
"He'll get the reception he deserves. Fernando loves this team a lot, he cares about Atletico Madrid," he told reporters at a press conference.
"He was given an ovation [at the 2012 UEFA Super Cup] in Monaco. He'll always be an Atletico fan. It's normal for the fans to be against him during the 90 minutes, but before and after the match he'll get the ovation he deserves."
Torres departed Atletico to join Liverpool in 2007, before moving to Chelsea four years later.
