How Chelsea could line up against AFC Wimbledon

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chelsea could line up for Wednesday's EFL Cup second-round clash with AFC Wimbledon.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino should make a plethora of changes for Wednesday's EFL Cup second-round showdown with League Two side AFC Wimbledon at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues claimed their first win of the Premier League season at the third attempt on Friday night, overcoming Luton Town 3-0 thanks to Raheem Sterling's brace and a Nicolas Jackson effort.

Chelsea were without as many as 10 players for their success over the Hatters, though, as Mykhaylo Mudryk (unspecified), Romeo Lavia (fitness), Wesley Fofana (knee), Benoit Badiashile (thigh), Marcus Bettinelli (unspecified), Christopher Nkunku (knee), Carney Chukwuemeka (knee), Reece James (thigh), Armando Broja (knee) and Trevoh Chalobah (thigh) all took their places on the sidelines.

Pochettino has confirmed that none of his injured players will be coming back in for Wednesday's game, while new goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic was in attendance for Friday's success over Luton but will have to wait a little longer for his debut; however, Bashir Humphreys and Marc Cucurella - apparently a loan target for Manchester United - are in line for promotion from the bench

Levi Colwill may continue in the XI, and the same can be said for Conor Gallagher and Malo Gusto further up the field, but Pochettino will be expected to ring the changes otherwise.

Lesley Ugochukwu and Ian Maatsen should stake their claims for regular minutes on Wednesday, while Noni Madueke and Diego Moreira ought to be given the chance to strut their stuff out wide.

Chelsea have bolstered their offensive ranks with the capture of Brazilian youngster Deivid Washington, but Mason Burstow might be given the nod at the tip of the attack from the start.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Sanchez; Humphreys, Colwill, Cucurella; Gusto, Ugochukwu, Gallagher, Maatsen; Madueke, Burstow, Moreira body check tags ::
