David Alaba will reportedly officially put pen to paper on a contract at Real Madrid in May.
The Austria international's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, with his deal at Bayern Munich due to expire at the end of June.
A number of clubs have been linked with the 28-year-old, but according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Madrid have been leading the race since January.
Romano claims that Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Barcelona all failed to convince the versatile defender to snub a move to Zinedine Zidane's side.
The Austrian will allegedly officially sign with the reigning Spanish champions in May, and he could potentially be a direct replacement for Sergio Ramos, who has still not agreed a new deal at the Bernabeu.
Alaba has again been a key player for Bayern this season despite the speculation surrounding his future, scoring twice and contributing five assists in 42 appearances in all competitions. body check tags ::
