Frank Lampard has admitted that he wants to stay at Chelsea next season.
The midfielder, who became the club's all-time leading goalscorer yesterday, hopes that he will receive a new contract offer with his current deal nearing its end.
Lampard scored his 203rd goal for the club against Aston Villa and revealed that he didn't want to disrespect the previous record holder Bobby Tambling.
"I'm hoping that I'll be here [next season]," Lampard said. "At the end of the season we'll get a decision on that.
"I never dreamed I would get near 200 goals, even 50 or 100. I'm very fortunate. I have to thank my teammates over the years and the lads we've got here now.
"Bobby is a great man. He hasn't been well recently and I didn't want to overcook the celebration out of respect to him."
The result means that Chelsea secured qualification for next season's Champions League.
