Chile midfielder Gary Medel has revealed that Arturo Vidal came through training unscathed today amid concerns over his fitness.
Vidal has been struggling with a knee injury during the build-up to this summer's World Cup, with suggestions that he could miss his side's opening match against Australia tomorrow night.
However, Medel is hopeful that his midfield partner will be fit in time for Friday having trained with the rest of the team today.
"Arturo trained like the rest of us. He did a good job and didn't have any pain in his knee," Medel is quoted as saying by PA.
"We hope that he can be with us for the first game. It will depend on him and how he feels. We want him to take care of himself and if he does play, we hope it doesn't affect him."
Chile will also face Spain and Netherlands in Group B.
