Three players were sent off as Chivas USA and the Colorado Rapids played out a bad-tempered draw in the MLS.
Hosts Chivas finished the game with nine men, after Gabriel Farfan and Tristan Bowen had received straight red cards.
Farfan was sent off on 33 minutes for a stamp on Shane O'Neill, while Bowen's dismissal, which came on 63 minutes, was due to an apparent spitting incident involving Chris Klute.
Tony Cascio saw red for the visitors after committing his second bookable offence just after half time.
Amid the disciplinary action, there were two goals.
Carlos Alvarez fired Chivas in front early on with a low drive from just outside the penalty area.
Jose Luis Real's men held their lead until 10 minutes from time when Martin Rivero headed Klute's cross into the top left corner of the net.
