Montreal Impact's faltering MLS campaign continued after they were denied a hard-fought victory over DC United at RFK Stadium, with Eddie Johnson grabbing a late equaliser for hosts.
The opening goal came early in the second half as the Canadians launched a counter attack and, after the ball was pulled back across the box by Justin Mapp, Jack McInerney was on hand to calmly to turn his shot home.
DC could have taken the lead themselves moments earlier when Nick DeLeon's ball into the box fell awkwardly for Chris Rolfe and the midfielder could only turn his effort into the side netting.
United thought that they had equalised late on when Rolfe found Luis Silva, only for the substitute to see his shot come back off the crossbar.
However, just as the Impact may have believed they would hold on for victory, Johnson levelled the game with only six minutes left to earn a share of the spoils for third-placed DC.
