Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Sebastian Rode could be out for the rest of the season with the injury that he suffered in the 0-0 draw against Werder Bremen on Sunday afternoon.
Frankfurt's head coach Armin Veh confirmed that Rode damaged a knee cartilage and will need to undergo an operation, which could keep him out for several months.
"He picked up an injury against Bremen and needs an operation," Bundesliga.com quotes Veh as saying. "He's likely to miss the rest of the season.
"It's very disappointing for him and for us, and for me on the eve of such a big game."
Frankfurt take on Porto in their return Europa League leg on Thursday.
