Everton midfielder James Rodriguez's future at Goodison Park is reportedly in doubt, with only one year remaining on his current contract.
After his debut season in the Premier League last term, when he scored six goals and produced five assists for the Toffees, Rodriguez is due to return to Finch Farm on Monday along with his other teammates who are not on international duty.
The 29-year-old was left disappointed when he was not included in Colombia's squad for this summer's Copa America, despite scoring 23 goals in 80 caps for his country since his senior debut in 2011.
Carlo Ancelotti brought Rodriguez to Merseyside last summer but his departure sparked uncertainty over the future of Rodriguez, and according to Liverpool Echo, new Everton boss Rafael Benitez has a fractured relationship with the Colombian.
During Benitez's spell at Real Madrid in 2015, Rodriguez struggled for game time and it is reported that the pair disagreed over the fitness of the 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner.
Rodriguez is believed to have been offered to many top European clubs this summer, including AC Milan.
