Goals from Oleksandr Hladkyy, Darijo Srna and Joao Carlos Teixeira ensured that Shakhtar Donetsk earned a 3-0 victory over Fenerbahce to progress into the playoff round of Champions League qualification this evening.
With the two clubs tied at 0-0 on aggregate after the first leg in Turkey, the hosts looked to push ahead as Marlos cut inside and sent in a rasping shot that was smartly kept out by Volkan Demirel.
Fenerbahce almost hit back with a chance of their own when Fernandao rose highest in the box, only to send his header just a few inches over the Donetsk crossbar.
Teixeira was up next for the home side and he spurned a good opportunity when he fired straight down the throat of Demirel from the centre of the box.
The miss was not to matter too much, however, as Hladkyy made a standout run in the 25th minute to meet Srna's near-post cross and divert the ball beyond a helpless Demirel in the Fenerbahce goal.
The home side went further in front after the break through Srna, who tucked home a 65th-minute penalty after Demirel brought down Marlos inside the box.
Shakhtar ensured that there was no way back into the game for Fenerbahce, as Teixeira grabbed his side's third goal of the night with a neat finish to cap off a memorable counter-attack.
Caner Erkin might have pulled a late consolation back for the visitors a few minutes before the end of play, but he was denied by Andriy Pyatov as the game ended 3-0 in favour of the hosts.
