Germany have travelled to the Faroe Islands for tomorrow night's World Cup qualifier without Marco Reus as the forward picked up a bout of gastroenteritis.
Reus started in Friday's 3-0 win over Austria but fell ill over the weekend and has been deemed unfit to travel with Joachim Low's squad this afternoon.
A statement from the German FA released earlier today read: "Marco Reus will not fly with the German national team to the Faroe Islands. The 24-year-old is suffering from a gastrointestinal infection."
Borussia Dortmund will now treat the winger and hope that he recovers in time for their clash with Hamburger SV this Saturday, with a trip to Napoli in the Champions League looming large four days later.
Low is now likely to hand Julian Draxler a chance to face the Faroes in place of Reus after he came on for the Dortmund playmaker against Austria.
