A first-half goal from Matt Rhead was enough to give Lincoln City a 1-0 win over Guiseley at Nethermoor Park in their National League clash this evening.
Guiseley, who went into the game unbeaten in their last seven, remain in 13th place despite the result, while Lincoln climb to seventh.
Liam Dickinson almost the home side ahead early on when he met Wayne Brooksby's free kick, but he could only direct his header narrowly over the top of goal.
Steven Drench then kept his side level with a save from Alan Power's acrobatic effort, but there was nothing he could do about Lincoln's winner on 17 minutes.
A deflected pass fell perfectly at the feet of striker Rhead, who made no mistake, hammering the ball home from five yards out.
George Maris almost hit back instantly for the hosts, but his low effort was kept out by Paul Farman, before Jake Lawlor sent an effort inches over in the final minutes of the first half.
Maris struck the crossbar early on in the second half before Rhead again found the back of the net, only to see his effort ruled out for offside.
