A goal apiece from Kayode Odejayi and Scott Fenwick left relegation rivals Hartlepool Town and Tranmere Rovers sharing the spoils in League Two.
George Donnelly's cross from the left found Odejayi, who volleyed in from close range past Scott Flinders, but their lead did not last long.
Just two minutes later, Aaron Tshibola's shot was parried by Owain Fon Williams, and Fenwick was in the right place to smash the ball into the back of the net.
Fenwick then had to come off with a shoulder injury just after the break, being replaced by the experienced Marlon Harewood.
Hartlepool continued to press and Michael Woods had a number of shots which were either too wide or straight at Fon Williams.
The second half had far less attacking opportunities than the first, with Donnelly's curling shot from outside the area Tranmere's best chance, while Pool's came from a counter-attack, with Rakish Bingham forcing Fon Williams to get down low and save well.
The 1-1 result leaves Hartlepool at the bottom of the league, while Tranmere climb one place to 21st.
