Steve Bruce believes that Hull City do have a chance of winning the FA Cup.
The Tigers play Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night and will come up against Sunderland in the quarter-finals if they beat Oscar Garcia's side.
With unfancied Wigan Athletic beating Manchester City in last year's final, Bruce insists that underdogs can succeed in the competition.
"If you can win this next one, then you start smelling the hot dogs. The big games are around the corner and there's nothing quite like an FA Cup quarter or semi-final," the manager told The Express.
"Now we're at this stage, with the quarter-final looming, why not? You never know. We've seen what Wigan did and Sunderland get to a cup final.
"If those two can, can it be one of those years where we don't have a home draw but we don't face a top team? I've done that before."
Hull duo Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic are cup-tied for the match.
