Hull City have taken a 1-0 lead into half time against Charlton Athletic as Mohamed Gedo's goal is the difference between the sides.
Hull could have been in the lead inside the opening 10 minutes as Paul McShane whipped a dangerous cross to the back post and found David Meyler, whose header was cleared off the line by Dale Stephens.
The Addicks were slowly getting a grip on the game and were unlucky not to take the lead when Dale Stephens reacted first to a cleared corner but his first-time shot was well blocked by McShane.
Steve Bruce's side took the lead in the 33rd minute as Gedo scored his second goal of the week, poking home from close range into an empty net after Ben Hamer came for a corner and missed the ball.
Meyler had another chance to extend his side's lead just before the break but his goalbound effort was headed over by Leon Cort.
