Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has defended his decision to field fringe players to face Hull City in the League Cup.
The Foxes recalled players including Joseph Dodoo and Andrej Kramaric to face the Tigers and lost the match 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at the KC Stadium.
"It was important to use all our players tonight. In the end we lost to one penalty so well done to Hull City," BBC Sport quotes Ranieri as saying.
"Of course I'm not pleased with the result, but the performance was good. We wanted to go through, but it was one mistake."
Goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic was the hero of the shootout for Hull, pulling off a save to deny Riyad Mahrez and fire his side into the last eight.
