Hull City have completed the signing of Abel Hernandez from Palermo for an undisclosed club-record fee.
The Uruguayan international, 24, signs a three-year contract with the Tigers, who have the option to extend that to four years if they wish.
"Abel is a fantastic signing and highlights just how far the club has come in such a short space of time," Hull boss Steve Bruce told the club website.
"He is an exciting talent and like myself, I'm sure the supporters can't wait to see him in action."
Hernandez joined Palermo from Penarol in January 2009 and last season had his most successful goalscoring season for the club, netting 14 times in 28 Serie B appearances.
Hull's previous record fee was the reported £8m fee paid for Jake Livermore earlier this summer.
