Hull City manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that goalkeeper Allan McGregor will spend the night in hospital after suffering kidney damage during his side's 2-1 loss to West Ham United.
The Scot received a red card when he collided with Mohamed Diame in the box, suffering an injury that has left him "in a bad way" in the process.
"McGregor is in a bad way," Bruce told reporters.
"A specialist is on his way to see him, it is a contusion on his kidney. We're hoping it's not ruptured. He's gone to hospital and will stay overnight."
Steve Harper, who replaced McGregor between the sticks at West Ham, is the only senior goalkeeper at Hull, with teammate Eldin Jakupovic out on loan at Leyton Orient.
