Hull City manager Steve Bruce has admitted his fear that several of his players will want to leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League.
The Tigers saw their drop into the Championship confirmed on Sunday following their goalless draw with Manchester United.
Bruce, who spent over £40m on new players this season, acknowledges that the club will be forced to trim their wage bill and many players will want to leave the KC Stadium.
"There are a lot of players who won't want to play here," Bruce told ITV Sport.
"They will want to play in the Premier League, but some won't have the opportunity.
"It's a time to take stock now and make sure you are strong enough to mount a challenge. We have seen big clubs suffer from relegation. That's what we have to guard against."
Bruce signed a new three-year deal with Hull in March.
