Juventus and Trabzonspor met in their Europa League clash at the Juventus Stadium.
The home side dominated the match and took the lead with a first half goal from Pablo Osvaldo.
They scored a second in stoppage time through Paul Pogba, to give them a big advantage ahead of next week's second leg in Turkey.
Read how the action unfolded below.
Good evening and thank you for joining Sports Mole for live text commentary of the Europa League match between Juventus and Trabzonspor at the Juventus Stadium.
Juventus play their first match in this season's Europa League after crashing out of the Champions League at the group stages. They finished a point behind Galatasaray, who beat them 1-0 on the final matchday thanks to a late goal from Wesley Sneijder. The match was memorable for the horrendous conditions on the pitch at the Turk Telekom Arena, which had led to the game being postponed.
There is added incentive for the Bianconeri to win the tournament this season, as the final will be hosted at the Juventus Stadium. They have been installed as the outright favourites, and it is hard to see who will stop them as they are currently nine points clear the top of the Serie A table.
JUVENTUS XI: Buffon, Caceres, Ogbonna, Bonucci, Isla, Pogba, Pirlo, Marchisio, Peluso, Tevez, Osvaldo
TRABZONSPOR XI: Onur Kivrak, Mustafa Yumlu, Aykut Demir, Bosingwa, Kadir Keles, Zokora, Bourceanu, Colman, Ozer Hurmaci, Olcan Adin, Emre Gural
JUVENTUS SUBS: Storari, Lichtsteiner, Padoin, Asamoah, Vidal, Giovinco, Llorente
TRABZONSPOR SUBS: Zeki Ayvaz, Yusuf Erdogan, Zeki Yavru, Caner Osmanpasa, Mierzejewski, Paulo Henrique, Janko
TEAM NEWS: Juventus have named a strong lineup, with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon all starting. Pablo Osvaldo makes his full debut for the club up front, while there are rare appearances for Federico Peluso and Mauricio Isla. Arturo Vidal, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Fernando Llorente are all on the bench.
Trabzonspor topped their Europa League group and finished two points above Italian opponents Lazio. Their last match in the competition was away in Italy, where they shared a goalless draw with the Biancocelesti at the Stadio Olimpico.
They are currently ninth in the Turkish League table, and have only won one of their past nine matches in all competitions. They haven't claimed a victory so far in 2014 and are huge outsiders to get anything from this match.
The Turkish side boast the top goalscorer this year's tournament. Olcan Adın has found the back of the net five times, and is level with Toronto-bound Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe.
PREDICTION: A home win for Juventus is surely the only realistic outcome to expect from this evening's match. They have won every home game in the league so far this year and have looked almost invincible in recent months. It is hard to see the away side having enough firepower to breach the Juventus backline and I don't think we will have a shock on the cards in Turin. I expect Juventus to take a comfortable lead to Turkey for next week's return leg, with a 3-0 win my prediction of the score.
There are plenty of Europa League matches taking place this evening, and following this encounter in Turin I will be bringing you live commentary from Lazio's meeting with Ludogorets Razgrad.
We are nearly ready for kick off here, as the players are on the pitch and completing the pre-match formalities.
KICKOFF! We are underway at the Juventus Stadium!
Ogbonna nearly puts his side in danger as he gives the ball away poorly to Gural midway inside his own half. The forward is unable to capitalise though as Juventus get men back in numbers to close him down quickly.
CHANCE! Pogba slides a ball through down the right hand side for Isla, who picks out the unmarked Tevez in the box. The Argentine takes the shot on first time, but gets underneath the ball slightly before lifting his strike over the bar.
Trabzonspor have started this game positively and have seen a fair amount of the ball in the midfield. They will have to be aware when they lose the ball, as the hosts are looking especially dangerous on the break.
Tevez is nearly through on goal after Ogbonna's ball over the top is missed by the defence, but Kivrak is quickly off his line to gather and snuff out the chance.
The home side have started to stamp their authority on this match now and are seeing the ball in more advanced positions inside the Trabzonspor half. They are looking to get Osvaldo and Tevez in with balls over the top, that the defence have done well to deal with so far.
GOAL! Juventus 1-0 Trabzonspor (Osvaldo)
The home side have taken the lead through a huge slice of luck. Tevez tries to find Pogba on the right wing, but the ball takes a wicked deflection and ends up going through to Osvaldo. The striker takes a touch, before slotting confidently past the keeper for his first Juventus goal.
Juventus are hungry for more goals now and they are nearly in again when Isla is picked out on the right wing and delivers a dangerous low ball that is well blocked behind by the defence.
Trabzonspor are hanging on at the moment, and Isla looks for the run of Tevez with a delicate through ball, which is cut out just before the striker can latch onto it.
Tevez shows fantastic skill down the right hand side to get past three defenders and find Marchisio. The midfielder beats one man, before laying it off to Tevez on the edge of the box, but he scuffs the strike and it is easily saved by the keeper.
Out of nothing the visitors come forward and Gural is picked out on the edge of the box. He has space to turn and gets hit shot away, but it is straight at Buffon and the keeper holds onto the ball.
CHANCE! The hosts almost grab a second as Isla weaves his way into the box and past a defender, before seeing his effort blocked from close-range by the keeper.
CHANCE! Tevez is inches away from finding the back of the net! Peluso does brilliantly to direct a long ball across the box and into the path of the striker, who takes a touch and sets himself, before bending a strike narrowly wide of the post.
The visitors are starting to find a few gaps appearing in the Juventus defence, who have been giving away the ball quite cheaply. The latest occurrence is when Zokora finds Adin in acres of space down the right, but he is unable to get the ball back across the box and cause any trouble.
Yumlu is very lucky not to pick up the first booking of the evening when he brings down Osvaldo, as Juventus looked to build a promising counter-attack.
If Trabzonspor are to get back into the match then one of the main reasons could be Ogbanna. He has looked off the pace this evening and has given the ball away more often than his manager would have liked in this half.
CHANCE! Juventus put together a wonderful passing move that nearly results in a goal. Pirlo plays a reverse ball into the path of Pogba, who slides it in behind for the onrushing Isla. It is then pulled back to Tevez in the box, who dummies it past one man, before drilling in an effort that Kivrak gets his body behind to block.
Juventus counter quickly following a corner and Osvaldo leads the charge. He plays it out wide to Isla who sees his cross into the box well cleared. The ball eventually comes to Pirlo who finds Peluso on the edge of the area, but his strike on goal is fired well wide.
HALF-TIME: Juventus 1-0 Trabzonspor
Osvaldo's first goal for Juventus has given the home side a deserved lead in this match. They should have scored more but have so far not been able to take all the chances that have come their way.
The Turkish side haven't caused too many problems, but if Juventus continue to give the ball away cheaply then they could be made to pay. Ogbanna has been the main culprit, and Antonio Conte may have some strong words in the dressing room for him.
Juventus have dominated the possession, having seen 54% of the ball in the first half. They have had far more attempts on goal, with eight shots to Trabzonspor's sole effort. I would expect that to continue in the second half, as the hosts look to put this game beyond any doubt.
The players are back out and we are moments away from the second half.
Juventus kick off and get the match back underway.
Juventus are almost in behind at the start of the half when Pogba tries to pick out the run of Marchisio, but it is just beyond his reach and goes through to the keeper.
CHANCE! Tevez picks out the run of Pogba who latches onto the ball around 25 yards out from goal. The midfielder tries his luck with a low drive, but it whistles just wide of the post.
CHANCE! Juventus are piling on the pressure now, and Osvaldo is slid in down the left hand side of the box. He tries to bend the ball into the bottom corner, but the keeper does well to stand firm and beat the strike away.
Trabzonspor steal the ball in the midfield and break quickly. The ball is then whipped into the middle and eventually falls to Adin on the edge of the box, but his volleyed attempt is poor and goes well over the bar.
SUBSTITUTION: Trabzonspor make their first change of the evening, as Henrique comes on to replace Gural.
Henrique almost makes an impact immediately after arriving on the pitch, as he fires in a powerful effort from out wide, but it is comfortable for Buffon to save at his near post.
Tevez has had a number of strikes on goal this evening and tries his luck with a long-range effort after space opens up for him in the midfield, but his low attempt lacks the power required to trouble the keeper.
The referee has momentarily brought the game to a halt, as a number of Trabzonspor fans in the far corner of the ground have set off a flare in the stands.
The flare has gone out and the match is back underway, with Juventus continuing to dominate the possession.
DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION: Vidal and Llorente have come on for the hosts, replacing Osvaldo and Isla.
SUBSTITUTION: The visitors also make a change, as Erdogan comes on for Bourceanu.
GOAL DISALLOWED! Trabzonspor have a goal ruled out, as Henrique latches onto a through ball and chips a shot past Buffon. It is then pulled back by Erdogan for Adin who puts the ball in the net, but the flag is raised. It appeared that the ball had crossed the line as Erdogan returned the pass, but the replays show that it was a tight call.
YELLOW CARD! Zokora is booked for the visitors and has given away a free kick around 25 yards out from goal.
CHANCE! Pirlo steps up to take the set piece and his low strike is spilled by the keeper, but he manages to recover in time before Tevez can get a touch on the ball.
The visitors win a free kick in a similar position to Pirlo's recent effort, and Adin is standing over the ball.
Adin takes the set piece and he tries to curl a low effort into the bottom corner past Buffon, but his effort is not good enough to trouble the keeper who easily makes the save.
Juventus can't seem to put this game to bed and Pirlo sees a powerful strike from the edge of the box well blocked after the ball is pulled back to him by Tevez.
Trabzonspor nearly take advantage after the ball is poorly given away in the midfield, with Colman curling an effort past the post from 25 yards out.
OFF THE POST! The home side nearly have a second as Pogba exchanges passes with Llorente in the box, before placing an effort against the outside of the post.
There are going to be five minutes of stoppage time.
Giovinco is slid in down the left hand side of the box and drills the ball across goal, but Kivrak does well to push the ball behind.
GOAL! Juventus 2-0 Trabzonspor (Pogba)
Juventus have finally scored their second goal of the evening! Tevez is found down the right wing and slides the ball back to the edge of the area where Pogba arrives to sidefoot into the back of the net, and leave the keeper with no chance.
The hosts will have a final chance to add to their lead, as Tevez is fouled just outside the box by Yumlu, who picks up a booking in the process.
Pirlo takes the free kick, but gets it all wrong and curls the ball well over the bar.
FULL-TIME: Juventus 2-0 Trabzonspor
Juventus have claimed a 2-0 win and will take that lead into next week's second leg in Turkey. The away side were unlucky not to score, but the Italian champions were clinical when it mattered.
That's all we've got time for in Turin. Coming up next, we have live commentary from Lazio's clash with Ludogorets Razgrad.
