Juventus have revealed that centre-back Leonardo Bonucci aggravated a previous thigh injury during Wednesday's Champions League clash with Lyon.
The Italian international limped out of the European tie in Turin, which finished 1-1, and following a scan, it has been confirmed that the defender has suffered a recurrence of a previous problem.
Juve have revealed that they will monitor Bonucci on Friday ahead of this weekend's Serie A clash with Chievo, but the 29-year-old is unlikely to be fit.
"Having been substituted in the second half of Wednesday's draw with Les Gones, Leonardo Bonucci underwent tests which revealed a recurrence of an injury previously sustained to his left thigh," a club statement read. "The defender's condition will be monitored closely again tomorrow."
Bonucci has made 12 appearances for Juve this season, scoring once in the process.
