Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has claimed that naivety cost his team glory in Monday night's Italian Super Cup defeat to Juventus in Doha.
Carlos Tevez had given the Bianconeri a 1-0 half-time lead, but Gonzalo Higuain cancelled out the opener on 68 minutes to send the clash into extra time.
Tevez gave his side the advantage again in the additional 30-minute period, but his compatriot levelled up with two minutes remaining, before Juve's Simone Padoin missed the decisive spot kick in the penalty shootout.
"It was a game between two teams who played expansively," Allegri told Rai Sport.
"Unfortunately, we had three match-points from the penalty spot, and we had the game in our hands until a few minutes from the end.
"I'm sorry because we had the game in our hands and we lost the goal in such a naive way."
The Turin giants sit top of Serie A.
