Los Angeles Galaxy have booked their place in the MLS end-of-season playoffs with a goalless draw at home to San Jose Earthquakes.
Bruce Arena's men are now third in the MLS Western Conference, two points behind leaders Portland Timbers but crucially four ahead of Mark Watson's side.
The two teams entered tonight's match at the StubHub Centre in good form, with the home side having won their last two and the visitors their last three.
However, neither team could find a way though as Jaime Penedo and Jon Busch both kept clean sheets despite being tested on a number of occasions.
The sixth-placed Earthquakes can still make the playoffs at the expense of the Seattle Sounders or the Colorado Rapids, but they must beat FC Dallas in their final game to have any chance.
Meanwhile, the Sounders have lost their last four games and take on the Galaxy in their final outing, while the Rapids face Vancouver Whitecaps.
