Miroslav Klose scored the only goal of the game to lift Lazio up to 10th in the Serie A table courtesy of a 1-0 win over Inter Milan this evening.
The hosts almost took the lead after just 11 minutes when Senad Lulic took advantage of confusion in the Inter defence to lift the ball over Samir Handanovic, but his effort bounced just past the post.
Lazio came close again midway through the first half when Klose fired an effort towards the near post, but Handanovic was equal to it.
The Inter keeper was called into action once again 10 minutes before the break as Antonio Candreva fizzed the ball towards goal, drawing another stop from Handanovic.
The visitors' first real chance of the match came just after the hour mark when Jonathan's cross found Yuto Nagatomo, but the wing-back powered his free header straight at Etrit Berisha, who collected it at the second attempt.
Lazio finally broke the deadlock with less than 10 minutes left in the match when Klose got in front of Andrea Ranocchia to volley Candreva's cross past the keeper.
That was how is stayed for the remainder of the game as Lazio moved back into the top half of the table, while Inter failed to close the gap on the top five.
