Bolton boss Owen Coyle has hailed the quality of his new signing Andy Lonergan.
The 28-year-old keeper completed his move from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee this week and will compete with current first choice Adam Bogdan for the number one spot at the Reebok Stadium.
"Andy Lonergan is a very good goalkeeper, there's no getting away from that," Coyle said.
"He's a player who I saw at Preston, where he was outstanding.
"I continued to monitor him, as you do, over the years. There was a point where it looked as if he was going to Everton, so there's no doubt about his qualities."
Lonergan started his career at Preston North End, where he spent 11 years.
