Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy is expected to be sidelined until the end of November after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury.
Mendy has been absent since twisting his ankle in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal in August, but despite suggestions that he was nearing a return, manager Claudio Ranieri has revealed that the summer signing will miss up to five weeks.
The Italian told reporters: "Mendy was unlucky. After the last training session, he had a little surgery to clean a fragment of the bone."
Mendy cost a fee of £13m when Leicester signed him from Nice in July.
