Wes Morgan: 'Lifting Premier League trophy an unbelievable feeling'

Leicester City skipper Wes Morgan speaks of his delight after lifting the Premier League trophy.

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has said that his dream became a reality this evening when he lifted the Premier League trophy.

The Foxes delighted their fans in their last home game of the season with a 3-1 win over Everton after being confirmed as top-flight champions for the first time in their history earlier this week.

Morgan was then presented with the trophy at full time and lifted it alongside manager Claudio Ranieri.

"I am emotionally drained," Morgan told Sky Sports News afterwards. "It was an unbelievable feeling to finally get my hands on the trophy. I had to hold back the tears, I held them back and lifted it up – it was the best feeling in the world.

"Everyone has been going on about how I was going to lift the trophy and saying don't drop it and putting some pressure on me. There is no better feeling lifting the trophy.

"Hopefully, we can crack on from here. It is a big, big season next season but I want to enjoy the moment. It's like a dream but now it's a reality and you just want to enjoy it."

Jamaican defender Morgan, who is the first non-European captain to lift the Premier League trophy, has played every single minute of Leicester's title-winning season, receiving just three yellow cards and scoring two goals in 37 matches.
