Liverpool will be bidding to make it successive wins in the Premier League when they open their 2024 with a home match against Newcastle United.

The Reds recorded a 2-0 win over Burnley on Boxing Day to move to the top of the table, and they remain at the summit due to Arsenal's surprise home loss to West Ham United on Thursday.

Jurgen Klopp's side are two points ahead of second-placed Arsenal and three clear of third-placed Aston Villa, while Manchester City in fourth are five points behind with a game in hand.

Tsimikas suffered a broken collarbone during the clash with Arsenal on December 23, and the left-back is facing a lengthy period on the sidelines recovering from the issue.

Doak picked up a serious knee problem while representing Liverpool Under-21s, and the 18-year-old is now facing a long period on the sidelines.
