Luton Town have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ryan Giles.
The Hatters have been proactive in the transfer market throughout July, already adding five players to their squad before their first year in the Premier League.
Mads Andersen, Issa Kabore, Marvelous Nakamba, Tahith Chong and Chiedozie Ogbene have all made the switch to Kenilworth Road in recent weeks.
However, Rob Edwards has now reunited himself with a familiar face with the Hatters spending a reported £5m fee on left-sided player Giles.
Edwards and Giles are familiar with each other from their time with Wolves, the former spending time on the coaching staff as well as loaning Giles when he was manager at AFC Telford United.
Giles, now 23 years of age, has since developed into one of the best wing-backs in the EFL, his latest stint on loan coming at Middlesbrough where he contributed 12 assists from 48 appearances.
While Wolves could have contemplated another temporary spell away from Molineux, they have decided to cash in on the academy graduate who now gets his chance in the Premier League.
Speaking to the club's official website, Giles said: "I've reached the point that at my age that I've had a lot of loans and I feel those experiences have made me the player and the person I am today. Now this is a different direction, a new beginning, a new chapter.
"I'm grateful to Rob for giving me my first taste of men's football and now with the chance to work with him again, especially in the Premier League, it is a fantastic opportunity.
"I thrive off creating chances and I can't wait to get to know my teammates and get the fans off their seats. I'm really excited and want to hit the ground running."
From Wolves' perspective, they receive another much-needed transfer fee at a time when it has become apparent that they are still not in a position to sign new players due to their issues with FFP.
The West Midlands outfit have now raised close to £90m, as well as substantially reduced their wage bill, yet Julen Lopetegui may still have to wait to make additions to his squad.
With Hugo Bueno, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Jonny and Toti Gomes already at Wolves as it stands, they will not enter the market for a new left-back unless one of either Ait-Nouri or Jonny move elsewhere. body check tags ::
