Hannover have made it two wins on the spin with a 4-1 success against Mainz 05 this afternoon, condemning the visitors to their first defeat of the season.
Mainz came into the match on a run of three successive wins and took the lead after 12 minutes through Nicolai Muller, who netted confidently after collecting an interception from Zdenek Pospech.
Shinji Okazaki then went close but Hannover were able to equalise on the counter soon after, with Mame Biram Diouf climbing highest to head home at the far post.
Another powerful header saw the hosts take the lead just before the break to turn the match on its head, with Artur Sobiech the man on hand to put Hannover ahead for the first time.
From there Hannover took control of the match as Diouf drove wide after the interval, exposing Mainz with alarming regularity in defence.
Ten minutes from time substitute Didier Ya Konan pounced to end Mainz's chances of salvaging a point, before Eric Prib netted his first for the club to make the scoreline look convincing in stoppage time.
