Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has claimed that his team "dominated Barcelona" during Tuesday night's Champions League fixture with the Spanish champions.
Gundogan netted a brace in a 3-1 victory for Man City, who had to come from behind after Lionel Messi sent Barcelona ahead in the 21st minute of the clash at the Etihad Stadium.
The German international has admitted that the hosts "started a bit nervously", but paid tribute to his team's dominance in the second 45 minutes of football.
"We started a bit nervously but after we scored we had our confidence back and the second half was incredible. We dominated Barcelona. The result is more than deserved," Gundogan told BT Sport.
Man City have now collected seven points from their three Group C matches and sit two points behind section leaders Barcelona with two rounds of matches to play.
