Neymar believes that Manchester City have a "long way" to go before they reach the level of Barcelona.
Both outfits will clash at the Etihad Stadium in a first-leg last-16 Champions League encounter at the Etihad Stadium tonight.
The Sky Blues have struck no fewer than 117 goals in all competitions this season, prompting debate over whether or not they can match their Catalan counterparts, but the Brazilian feels that City lack the experience required to trouble the Spanish giants.
He told Goal.com: "I have read the things about Manchester City beating Barcelona because of the amount of goals they are scoring in England - but I think the reality is that Manchester City are still a long way behind Barcelona.
"They do have very good players - but we have much more experience in the competition.
"We will respect them - but if we concentrate and play the way we know we can - then I think we will progress."
Tonight's clash kicks off at 7.45pm.
