Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has be named the Premier League Manager of the Month for November.

The Spaniard, who guided the Citizens to three league victories out of three, was voted for the award ahead of fellow nominees Jurgen Klopp and Steven Gerrard.

Man City began the month with a comfortable 2-0 triumph against crosstown rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, before keeping a second successive clean sheet in the 3-0 win at home against Everton.

The Premier League champions then extended their winning streak with a slender 2-1 victory against top-four challengers West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.

Maximum points claimed in November helped Man City move to within one point of league leaders Chelsea, before they climbed to the summit at the beginning of December with two more wins against Aston Villa and Watford.

Since moving to England in 2016, Guardiola has claimed the Manager of the Month award 10 times, which is the joint-third highest total of any head coach along with West Ham's David Moyes; only Sir Alex Ferguson (27) and Arsene Wenger (15) have won the award on more occasions in the competition's history.

Guardiola will now look to extend City's winning league run to six matches when they play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday lunchtime. body check tags ::
