Leicester City manager Claude Puel has said that he is pleased with the attitude shown by Riyad Mahrez and the rest of the team following the Algerian's fallout with the club over a failed January transfer.
Mahrez was understood to be desperate to join Manchester City on deadline day, only for Leicester's demands to force the runaway league leaders to withdraw from negotiations.
The winger subsequently refused to turn up for training, but has now been welcomed back into the side and scored his first goal since the saga to rescue the Foxes a late draw against Bournemouth on Saturday.
"This moment is tough for us as we are dropping a lot of points, especially at home, but there is a good mentality in the squad," Puel told reporters.
"It was difficult in the transfer window. I said I tried to protect [Mahrez] and also the team. I said also he will come back with a good attitude, a positive attitude, and he has shown that. The team also has shown that. This is important.
"All the players are giving their best and I am happy about this. I am proud about Riyad and his teammates also. It is good for all the squad and we have a good spirit in the team. If we keep working this way then we will get the next win."
Leicester are now winless in their last five Premier League outings, leaving the club eighth in the table.
