Napoli are reportedly prepared to challenge Serie A rivals Roma for the signature of Manchester City midfielder James Milner.
Roma, who already have Milner's former England teammate Ashley Cole on their books, were recently linked with a January move for the 28-year-old.
However, Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is also an admirer of Milner and is considering submitting a bid to City for his services this winter, according to Il Mattino.
Milner's contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire at the end of the season, which means that he will be free to discuss terms with foreign clubs from January onwards.
He joined City from Aston Villa in 2010 for a fee reportedly in the region of £25m.
