Manchester United defender Phil Jones has explained that manager David Moyes called for "more belief" in the second half of their 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Red Devils qualified top of Group A in the Champions League, and Jones, who scored the second-half winner, revealed the contents of Moyes's half-time team talk.
"He told us to pass the ball better, give each other nice passes and show more belief," Jones told ITV Sport.
"People have opinions and we've had some disappointing results over the last few games, but hopefully we can start to put that right now and kick on.
"We needed the fans behind us tonight and I want to say a big 'thank you' to them."
United play Aston Villa in the Premier League at the weekend.
