Manchester United have confirmed their squad for Thursday's Europa League knockout round playoff first leg against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

The Red Devils have a number of absentees for the European contest, including both Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer, with the pair suspended for the clash in Spain.

Martinez will serve a one-game ban due to the yellow card that he picked up in the team's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in their last match in the competition.

Meanwhile, Sabitzer was booked three times while representing Bayern Munich in the group stage of the Champions League, so the January arrival is also absent from the travelling squad.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are long-term absentees for the Red Devils, with the former out until the end of April due to an ankle injury, while the latter will miss the rest of the campaign, having been forced to undergo knee surgery last month.

Antony, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay are also all absent for the 20-time English champions through injury, further depleting Erik ten Hag's options at the top end of the pitch.

Casemiro, though, is available for selection despite currently being suspended in the Premier League.

Wout Weghorst will be bidding to make his European debut for Man United, with the Netherlands international potentially leading the away team's line at Camp Nou.

The suspensions and injuries mean that there are spots in the squad for the likes of Brandon Williams, Zidane Iqbal and Kobbie Mainoo.

Facundo Pellistri and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also included, with the duo looking to feature in the Europa League for the first time this season.

Marcus Rashford is a certainty to start in the final third of the field, with the England international bidding to add to the 21 goals that he has managed during an impressive season.

Man United won five of their six matches in the group stage of the Europa League, but they finished second behind Real Sociedad in Group E and will now need to navigate their way past Barcelona in a two-legged affair in order to advance to the knockout round of the competition.

Man United squad vs. Barcelona:

De Gea, Heaton, Butland; Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Varane, Dalot, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Williams; Fernandes, Fred, Casemiro, Iqbal, Mainoo; Pellistri, Rashford, Sancho, Weghorst, Elanga, Garnacho body check tags ::
