Manchester United will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they head to St Mary's on Saturday afternoon to tackle Southampton.

The Red Devils opened their 2024-25 season with a 1-0 success over Fulham at Old Trafford, but they were beaten 2-1 by Brighton & Hove Albion in their second match of the campaign before going down 3-0 at home to Liverpool before the international break.

The 20-time English champions are currently down in 14th spot in the Premier League table, and there will be pressure on head coach Erik ten Hag to deliver a positive result this weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Southampton, who have lost all three of their league games this term.

Leny Yoro

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: November 2 (vs. Chelsea)

New signing Yoro will be on the sidelines until at least the start of November due to the fractured metatarsal that he suffered during the club's pre-season clash with Arsenal in July.

Rasmus Hojlund

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Southampton)

Hojlund picked up a hamstring injury during a pre-season fixture with Arsenal and has been absent early in the season, but the Denmark international has a strong chance of returning to the field this weekend.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia missed the entirety of last season due to a serious knee injury which required two separate operations, and the Dutchman is still not ready to return.

Luke Shaw

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Southampton)

Shaw has been absent early in the season due to a calf problem, but the club's left-back has a slight chance of being back in the squad for the trip to Southampton.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Toe
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Southampton)

Lindelof is yet to feature this season due to a toe problem, but the Sweden international, who was strongly linked with a summer exit, might be cleared to be in the squad against Southampton.

Mason Mount

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: September 29 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Mount was forced off at the interval of the clash with Brighton due to a muscular issue, and the attacker will be on the sidelines for at least a couple more weeks.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for the Premier League clash.
