Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he can see why Queens Park Rangers fans felt frustrated following his side's 2-0 win at Old Trafford.
Wayne Rooney scored the opener from the spot in controversial circumstances after Shaun Derry was sent off for a foul on Ashley Young. However, replays showed that the winger, who was in an offside position to begin with, went down easily under the challenge.
"Good result for us today," Ferdinand tweeted. "I can see why the QPR fans would be unhappy with the penalty + red card against them."
QPR revealed after the match that they are planning to appeal Derry's red card.
