Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is reportedly considering a summer transfer to Manchester United.

The 30-year-old has recently emerged as a midfield target for the Red Devils, who have grown frustrated in their pursuit of several targets including Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong and Juventus' Adrien Rabiot.

While a move for De Jong to Old Trafford remains up in the air, a deal for Rabiot is understood to have collapsed due to the Frenchman's wage demands.

Man United now appear to have turned their attention to Casemiro and are contemplating a £50m swoop to sign the Brazil international.

According to Marca, Casemiro has not closed the door to a possible exit from the Santiago Bernabeu and is 'studying' a proposed move to United.

The report adds that the experienced midfielder is analysing whether the Red Devils are capable of turning their fortunes around this season under head coach Erik ten Hag.

Casemiro has spent the last nine years with Real Madrid and has a strong relationship with head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who views the former Porto man as an invaluable member of his first-team squad.

The Brazilian is keen to continue playing in the Champions League, a competition he was won five times with Los Blancos and one that United will not be competing in this season, which could prove to be an issue in persuading the midfielder to move to Old Trafford.

Marca also claims that Casemiro has 'received calls' from other clubs in recent months but the most intriguing proposal has come from United.

Casemiro, who has made 336 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions, has three years remaining on his contract in the Spanish capital.

Ten Hag has made three signing so far this summer in the form of Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, but the Dutchman is believed to be keen to sign another five players before the transfer window slams shut.

A recent report claims that Ten Hag is targeting a right-back, two midfielders, a centre-forward and a wide forward in the final two weeks of the summer window.

United are understood to have held talks with Atletico Madrid over the availability of Joao Felix, while his teammate Matheus Cunha has allegedly turned down the chance to move to Old Trafford this summer.

The Red Devils are also considering offers for Chelsea duo Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic, with one report claiming that the latter would be interested in a loan move to the red side of Manchester. body check tags ::
