Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal is one of the club's targets in the January transfer window.
Antonio Conte is determined to add experience to his ranks over January as Inter look to consolidate their place at the top of Serie A.
Reports have strongly suggested that Vidal, whose appearances at Barcelona have been limited this term, was on the club's radar this month.
Speaking on the subject of transfers, Marotta told Sky Sports News: "We'll do something, it's an important moment and we want to keep going.
"Vidal is one of our objectives. As for [Christian] Eriksen, the market closes at the end of January. We're working hard, but to improve the quality of our squad, important signings are needed and it's for this obvious that there are difficulties."
Conte is said to prefer the prospect of signing Vidal to that of Christian Eriksen, who was tipped for a £20m move to San Siro over January.
Inter are also reportedly close to completing a deal for Manchester United captain Ashley Young, who has rejected a one-year bumper deal at Old Trafford.
