Leicester City are reportedly prepared to pay £40m for Monaco loanee Youri Tielemans amid speculation that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur want to hijack the deal.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Friday that the club are in talks with Monaco over a permanent transfer, having only signed the 21-year-old on a six-month deal in January.
That did little to stop speculation of Man United and Spurs supposedly showing an interest in the Belgium international, who registered his third assist for City - to go with his one goal - in Saturday's 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
According to The Sun, however, Leicester are willing to break their transfer record - Islam Slimani's £30m arrival from Sporting Lisbon in August 2016 - to get a deal over the line.
The Premier League side may try to claw back up to £20m by sending Adrien Silva to Monaco once his loan contract at the Stade Louis II expires.
