Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has admitted that Champions League qualification will affect his future with the Turin club.
The Italian giants are sitting in seventh place in the Serie A table after they had 15 points deducted in January for financial irregularities.
Juventus have submitted an appeal to have their points deduction revoked, but as it stands, they are 12 points adrift of the top four with 13 games left to play.
If Juventus are unsuccessful in their appeal then their best chance of qualifying for the Champions League will be to win the Europa League this season.
After beating Nantes in the playoff round, Juventus are currently preparing for the first leg of their last-16 tie against Bundesliga club Freiburg.
Rabiot has admitted that achieving Champions League qualification will have a bearing on his future with the Italian club.
The 27-year-old told DAZN: "The Champions League is an important competition and we can reach it through Serie A or Europa League. Surely, it will be important for my future."
Rabiot was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, but ultimately, a transfer never materialised.
As a result, the France international has remained with Juventus where he has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season, registering seven goals and two assists.
Despite playing regularly under Massimiliano Allegri, the midfielder's future at the club is shrouded in uncertainty, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
If Rabiot decides to leave Juventus in the summer, he could attract interest from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
A recent report claimed that the Citizens are considering Rabiot as a potential replacement for Ilkay Gundogan.
The Germany international is also out of contract in June, and is yet to decide whether to remain at the Etihad Stadium or move on to a fresh challenge.
After losing 1-0 in Sunday's Serie A meeting with Roma, Juventus will be looking to bounce back when they face Freiburg at the Allianz Stadium on Thursday. body check tags ::
