Christian Eriksen has revealed that he is not currently discussing a new contract with Manchester United.

The Denmark international's existing terms with the Red Devils will expire at the end of the season, and there is currently a host of speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

Ajax are allegedly interested in re-signing the experienced midfielder, with the Dutch outfit said to be prepared to offer him a three-year contract to finish his career in Amsterdam.

Eriksen has recently worked his way back into the Man United XI, but the 32-year-old has said that he has not held any talks with the 20-time English champions over a potential extension.

"No, we are not there at the moment [talks about staying put]. I have one year left, and then we can have another conversation next year when you stand in a different place," Eriksen told Bold.

Eriksen provides update on Man United future

Eriksen was heavily linked with a move away from Man United over the summer, with various reports suggesting that he had been made available for transfer.

However, the Denmark international has insisted that the club never told him to leave during the recent market.

"I had no thoughts about moving on, and I didn't hear from the club that they wanted to sell me or that I had to leave," Eriksen added.

"I really just felt that the family and I were doing really well. If something really exciting came along, or something where I really felt: 'I want to try this,' then fair enough, but it wasn't something that I had to leave."

Should Man United offer Eriksen a new contract?

Eriksen has made eight appearances for Man United during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring three goals and registering three assists in the process, and the Red Devils have recently looked a better side with him in it.

There is no getting away from the fact that Eriksen struggled last term, but midfield is a problem area for the Red Devils, and Eriksen certainly brings a greater deal of control in that position.

Casemiro is likely to leave next year, and there is certainly an argument for Eriksen to be kept for at least another 12 months, as he remains one of the most technically gifted players at the club.

Eriksen provided two assists in Man United's 3-3 draw with Porto in the Europa League on October 3 before playing the full 90 minutes of the goalless draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League last time out.
