Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough are level at half time, after a fine Gary Gardner goal cancelled out Grant Leadbitter's opener.
Forest had the first chances of the game, as Michail Antonio went close with a deflected shot and Jamaal Lascelles headed over a corner from six yards out.
Middlesbrough struggled to create any early opportunities, but long-range efforts from Lee Tomlin and Patrick Bamford showed how dangerous they can be.
Minutes after Bamford's shot, the visitors took the lead as Leadbitter's in-swinging cross went all the way in at the back post.
Forest equalised shortly after, as Gardner curled a 25-yard strike into the top corner, minutes after he missed a simple header from a Chris Burke cross.
Leadbitter went close again for the visitors, but neither side could find a crucial second in an even game.
