Doncaster Rovers have secured a draw following a goalless meeting with Middlesbrough in a pre-season match at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Championship side were on the attack from the start as Lee Tomlin made a charge down the right before crossing the ball in towards Stewart Downing, but the recently re-signed midfielder was just offside.
Harry Forrester could have opened the scoring for Doncaster less than 10 minutes into the tie after cutting inside, but Dimitrios Konstantopoulos was on hand to make the save.
The hosts continued to find gaps in the Middlesbrough defence, allowing James Coppinger to get a shot away 20 minutes into the tie, but the Boro keeper got down low to make another stop.
Adam Forshaw created a couple of opportunities for the visitors before the break firing just over from a corner before winning a free kick on the edge of the box, which Downing blasted high.
Thorsten Stuckmann came under pressure early on in the second half as Tomas Kalas picked out Downing with a through-ball, but the Doncaster keeper made the save.
The chances continued to come for Aitor Karanka's men, with Dani Ayala and Mustapha Carayol attempting to head in from a corner, only to find Stuckmann in the way, while Kike fired over after a poor clearance from the Doncaster keeper.
Curtis Main could have won it late on for the League One side, attempting to chip the ball past substitute keeper Connor Ripley just moments after his introduction, but the ball went wide.
