A Scott McDonald goal in the 33rd minute has given Millwall a 1-0 lead against Blackpool in today's Championship clash at The Den.
After some early forays into the Blackpool half, the Lions sent a dangerous free kick into the opposition box in the eighth minute, but Tangerines goalkeeper Joe Lewis was able to clear the ball away, despite Ricardo Fuller lurking.
Just before the quarter-hour mark, Jose Riga's side had the ball in the back of the Millwall net, but the effort was disallowed for a foul on Carlos Edwards.
McDonald was a constant threat for the home side during the first half with several tentative efforts on goal, and eventually, the 31-year-old was responsible for the first goal of the game after latching on to a free kick and sending the ball past Lewis.
