Montreal Impact have defeated FC Dallas 2-1 in their MLS clash at the Stade Saputo.
The home side threatened first when Ignacio Piatti raided forward and weaved his way past Walker Zimmerman, but he could not beat Dan Kennedy in the Dallas goal.
The visitors had an opportunity of their own when Fabian Castillo managed to carve out space for a strike on the edge of the box, but his effort was well saved by Evan Bush.
Montreal were handed the chance to take the lead when Moises Hernandez brought down Piatti in the box and a penalty was awarded. Piatti took the spot kick himself and fired Impact into the lead.
Blas Perez almost hit back when a loose ball fell into his path inside the box, but his goal-bound strike was well blocked by Laurent Ciman.
In the second half, Impact doubled their advantage when Piatti raced down the flank and picked out Jack McInerney, who provided a smart finish from the edge of the box.
Dallas tried to respond as Castillo lifted a cross into the box from the right, but Perez could only guide his header from close range over the bar.
However, the visitors did get a goal back when Matt Hedges pounced on a rebound from a save from Bush and dispatched the ball into the back of the net.
Dallas pushed for a leveller as they exerted heavy pressure on the Montreal goal, but the home side held out for the three points.
