Montreal Impact have picked up their first victory of the season in the MLS courtesy of a slender 1-0 victory against Philadelphia Union.
The visitors came close to making the breakthrough with less than 10 minutes played when Aaron Wheeler connected with a header inside the box, but he failed to find the target.
Shortly after, Andrew Wenger saw his left-footed strike from a difficult angle saved, before Philipe Martins struck to give Montreal a 1-0 lead.
Brian Carroll looked to have levelled the contest, only for his 35-yard strike to be kept out by Troy Perkins as Impact held out for all three points.
